WITHDRAWAL POLICY

The Withdrawal Policy covers the following areas:

  1. Circumstances of Withdrawal
    1. Withdrawal Due to Non-Delivery of Course

      YBIS will notify the student within three (3) working days upon the knowledge of any of the following:

      • It does not commence the Course on the Course Commencement Date;
      • It terminates the Course before the Course Commencement Date;
      • It does not complete the Course by the Course Completion Date;
      • It terminates the Course before the Course Completion Date;
      • The Student's Pass application is rejected by Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA);
      • If the student fails to obtain approval from MOE or other relevant organisations;
      • YBIS considers that the student does not satisfy the eligibility criteria of being a student;
      • YBIS expels the student on violation of any of the rules and regulations of YBIS;

        YBIS will provide the Student with alternative course arrangement within seven (7) working days of notifying the Student in writing of the above circumstances that will allow the Student to make a timely and appropriate decision on the alternative arrangements.

    2. Withdrawal due to other reasons

      If the Student withdraws from the Course for any reason other than those stated in Clause 1 above, request for withdrawal (withdrawal notice) must reach the school office at least 2 months before the effective date of withdrawal through official withdrawal form given in the School website. On receipt of the withdrawal notice which must fulfil the withdrawal conditions, the School will inform about the acceptance/rejection of the Withdrawalawal notice within seven (7) working days.

    3. Withdrawal during cooling off period

      If the Student submits the notice of withdrawal to the School within the cooling-off period of seven (7) days after the signing of the contract by both the parties, YBIS will inform about the acceptance/rejection of the withdrawal notice within seven (7) working days if the application is through the official withdrawal form with all necessary details.

  2. Withdrawal Conditions

    Withdrawal request will be processed only if the following conditions are fulfilled:

    • Withdrawal notice should be submitted through the official withdrawal form available on the School website. Oral or any other form of request will not be accepted.
    • Requests for withdrawal must reach the school office at least 2 months before the effective date of withdrawal.
    • All pending dues from the Student must be cleared.
    • Upon course completion.
  3. Timelines for Completing Withdrawal
    • Submission of withdrawal form by the parent.
    • Acceptance of withdrawal within seven (7) working days.
    • Completion of withdrawal process and relevant documents are kept ready for issuance to the parent on or within seven (7) working days after the effective date (last working day as mentioned in the withdrawal form) of withdrawal.
    • Student contract is deemed to be terminated on the effective date of withdrawal.
  4. Withdrawal Procedure

    The following process is followed from receiving the withdrawal application to issue of TC:

    • Submission of withdrawal form by the parent through official form by email.
    • Acceptance of the withdrawal notice will be sent to the parent within seven (7) working days.
    • If the parent chooses to cancel the withdrawal of their child, a cancellation of withdrawal should be emailed to the school within five (5) working days for acceptance by the Admin department.
    • If no cancellation request is received within five (5) working days, withdrawal application is approved by the Admin department and the withdrawal formalities will be completed.
    • If Parent extends withdrawal date, the billing, if any, is done for the extended period with an additional fee of 100$ along with 7% GST towards admin expenses.
    • Upon fulfilment of conditions that include return of School properties, library books and payment of any arrears of fees, the Transfer Certificate (TC) will be prepared.
    • The Transfer Certificate (TC) is issued on or within seven (7) working days after effective date of withdrawal.
    • The Admin department will cancel the FPS insurance, Student Contract, and the student name will be unlisted from the AIMS portal.
    • Admin department will cancel the Student Pass, if applicable.

REFUND POLICY

  1. Refund applies only when the Parent pays the fees and subsequently withdraws their child from the School:
    1. Refund Due to Non-Delivery of Course

      YBIS will notify the student within five (5) working days upon the knowledge of any of the following:

      1. It does not commence the Course on the Course Commencement Date;
      2. It terminates the Course before the Course Commencement Date;
      3. It does not complete the Course by the Course Completion Date;
      4. It terminates the Course before the Course Completion Date;
      5. The Student’s Pass application is rejected by Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA);
      6. If the student fails to obtain approval from MOE or other relevant organisations;
      7. YBIS considers that the student does not satisfy the eligibility criteria of being a student at YBIS;
      8. YBIS expels the student on violation of any of the rules and regulations of YBIS;

        YBIS will provide the Student with alternative course arrangement within seven (7) working days of notifying the Student in writing of the above circumstances that will allow the Student to make a timely and appropriate decision on the alternative arrangements. Refund, if any, will be made based on the Refund Table A & B given below.

    2. Withdrawal due to other reasons

      If the Student withdraws from the Course for any reason other than those stated in Clause 1 above, YBIS will refund the student the amount based on Refund Table A & B given below within 7 working days after acceptance of the withdrawal notice.

    3. Withdrawal during cooling off period

      If the Student submits the notice of withdrawal to the School within the cooling-off period of seven (7) days after the signing of the contract by both the parties, YBIS will refund the fees already paid, based on Refund Table A & B given below within 7 working days after acceptance of the withdrawal notice irrespective of whether the Student has started the course or not.

  2. Refundable and non-refundable fees

    The following categories of fees are refunded based on the circumstances of withdrawal:

  4. Refund Conditions

    YBIS will process refund request if the following conditions are satisfied:

    • Refund meets the criteria specified in this policy;
    • As a gesture of goodwill YBIS also makes refunds on humanitarian grounds though it is not entitled to do so as per the contract and refund policy;
    • The decision made by YBIS will be final and is not subject to review in any arbitration centre or in court of law.
    • Withdrawal process is completed.
    • Refund will be done within five (5) working days from the effective withdrawal date as mentioned in the withdrawal form.
    • Effective withdrawal date for withdrawal mentioned in Clause 1 will be the date YBIS notifies Parents about the inability to provide alternative arrangements;
  5. Timelines for Refund
    • Submission of the refund request by the Parent within five (5) working days after effective withdrawal date or as per the time mentioned in the Refund Policy.
    • Processing of the refund request within seven (7) working days after receiving all necessary documents supporting the refund request.
  6. Refund Procedure

    The following process is followed for refunding course fees:

    • Submission of request for refund of fees by the parent.
    • Admin department reviews the request, if request is in compliance with the refund policy and then finalises the refund amount.
