The Admission Office will submit documents for Student Pass application to the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA).

Attendance Requirements for Student pass holders

According to the ICA Regulations, the school is required to inform the authorities if:

  1. the student has failed to attend classes for a continuous period of 7 days or more without any valid reason; or
  2. the student has not attended classes regularly, i.e. where the percentage of attendance is 90% or lower in any month of the course without any valid reason.
  3. the student’s studies in the school has been terminated.

Relevant Singapore Laws

Relevant Singapore laws especially those relating to ICA and Ministry of Manpower. This include, but are not limited to, immigration requirements, laws on driving, drugs and alcohol abuse, employment, smoking, traffic and littering.

Area Relevant Law
Immigration All international students studying in Singapore must have a valid passport and a Student Pass from the ICA (Immigration and Checkpoint Authority).
Employment International students are not allowed to work in Singapore without a 'Work Pass Exemption' from the MOM (Ministry of Manpower) and are not allowed to attend an industrial attachment/internship programme, whether paid or unpaid.
Driving All drivers must be in possession of a valid Singapore driving license and the vehicle must be insured.
Drugs Possession of Controlled Drugs is presumed to be for trafficking, an offence which can carry the death penalty.
Alcohol Abuse Any offense committed while being intoxicated (drunk) is punishable under the law. Drunk driving is a serious offence.
Smoking Smoking in specific public places and indoor restaurants is prohibited.
Traffic Jay walking is an offence.
Littering Littering, spitting and vandalism (with graffiti) in public areas are serious offences.

Refund is given under the following conditions:

  1. Refund Events
    • Course cannot commence on the scheduled date
    • Course cannot be completed on time
    • Course is terminated before completion
    • Student does not meet entry requirements
    • Student Pass is rejected by ICA
  2. Alternative Arrangements
    • School will propose alternatives within 10 working days
    • If accepted, a new contract will be issued
    • If rejected, contract may be terminated
  3. Refund Processing
    • Full refund within 7 working days (if course not started)
    • Partial refund based on remaining duration
  4. Cooling-Off Period

    Full refund is allowed within 7 days of signing the contract.

  5. Withdrawal Outside Cooling Period

    Refund will be calculated based on remaining course duration.

Transfer

  • Transfer is allowed upon request, subject to availability
  • Preferably before new academic year
  • Mid-year transfer requires approval

Deferment

Deferment is not allowed as per school policy.

Withdrawal

a) Non-Delivery of Course

  • Course not started or completed
  • Course terminated
  • Student fails entry requirements
  • Student Pass rejected

b) Other Reasons

Withdrawal request must be submitted at least one term before the effective date.

c) Cooling-Off Period

Withdrawal within 7 days will be processed within 7 working days.

  • School is facilitating transport through a private operator.
  • Transport will be provided subject to availability.
  • Fees will be deducted through GIRO along with the school fees on an instalment basis, as mentioned in the student contract.
  • Transport fees are payable for the whole year.
  • Transport withdrawal requires an instalment notice.
  • Current GST is applicable for all fees payable.
